The Importance of Printing Your Family Portraits.

You take your time searching for a photographer who has the style that you are looking for.

You carefully choose the location where your portrait session will take place, a beach or a nature preserve.

It takes three hours on line shopping and two hours in stores to find everyone’s perfect outfits.

The morning of the session you struggle to get out of the house on time because you want everything to be perfect.

After all of that, you receive a USB Drive of all of your images.

It sits in a drawer.

It happens to so many of you. I have asked! So many of you haven’t printed anything larger than an 8×10. Why? Do you not have the time? Are you unsure of where to print quality enlargements that will last? What ever your reason is for not printing, its not worth your family portraits sitting in a drawer.

Investing in heirloom albums and wall art is investing in memories that will last for a lifetime.

Have you ever seen a formal portrait of your grandmother or a wedding portrait of your great Aunt and Uncle? Of course, you have. In their time, portrait photographers only provided tangible art work for their walls or their coffee tables.

There is nothing better, in my eye, than grabbing an old album of my mother’s and flipping through it on a random afternoon. There are portraits of my family, some still with us and others have passed, playing in my aunts pool and celebrating birthday’s. I am now able to show my wife and my children memories that I experienced when I was there age.

My point in all of this is to encourage you to think about why you chose to document your family. Why is it important to you to have these images? I know it’s not for them to sit on a USB drive. I know that it’s to preserve the faces of your children, to remember the laughter your family has shared through out the years.

Before you show up for your family portrait session, take a look at your walls. Take a look at your book shelf and your buffet table. Imagine where you will place your images for the next year or so and then imagine the faces of your children in twenty years showing their spouses the memories that they have cherished for years.

I have spent a great amount of time choosing archival and heirloom products. From a simple 11×14 enlargement to stunning brass frames and long lasting leather albums, there is something for everyone to enjoy for many years to come. I began offering these particular products when I noticed I personally wasn’t printing any of my own family memories. I started looking for things that fit my style and before I knew it I had a list of wonderful options. The products that I hold dear to me are available to you.

When you are ready to invest in your memories I am here for you. Contact me at any time! I would love the opportunity to show you my collection!
