It is known that the survey was conducted during the period of June 13-20, 2024. The survey population includes all Indonesian citizens in Central Sulawesi who have the right to vote in the general election, i.e., those who are 17 years old or older, or are already married when the survey was conducted. Sample selection was done using the multistage random sampling method. The survey sample size was 1,200 people. Assuming a simple random sampling method, the sample size of 1,200 respondents has a margin of error (MoE) of ± 2.9% at a 95% confidence level. The sample was proportionally distributed across all districts/cities in Central Sulawesi.

The event was attended by KPU RI Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari, Secretary General Bernad Dermawan Sutrisno, and members Idham Holik and Yulianto Sudrajat. Representatives from the KPU of 38 provinces throughout Indonesia, as well as officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bawaslu, DKPP, and other related agencies, were also in attendance.

Bappilu DPW NasDem Jatim Chairman S. Suhandoyo stated the rationale for granting the official backing to the “Santri” duo, citing the strong commitment of both young figures to further improve the well-being of the people of Gresik. “We have considered various factors, including dialogues. Furthermore, the survey findings for this pair are very convincing,” he said. The transfer of the official backing was attended by members from both parties, including Gresik political figure and elected DPR RI member Thoriq Majiddanor, also known as Jiddan.

Muhammad Syahrul expressed his gratitude and thanks for being granted the responsibility to work together in the local Gresik election. “We will promptly organize and engage, as well as socialize and engage with the people to realize the objective of victory,” he said on Monday (24/6/2024). Regarding his reason for selecting Tri Putro Utomo as his partner, Syahrul noticed the promise and prominence that is hoped to help garner votes. “Mas Tri is a prosperous entrepreneur, he also represents the southern part of Gresik, while I stand for the central and northern regions. Our acronym ‘Santri’ is a representation of Gresik,” said the young politician. Foreseen to compete with the current holder, Syahrul affirmed that he is set and dedicated to making Gresik greater and more developed. With the endorsement given to the “Santri” duo, PKB and NasDem agreed to join forces in the poll set for the 27th of November, 2024. Despite they have enough seats to register with the KPU (PKB 14 seats and NasDem two seats), they are continuing to talk with other political parties that have similar goals.

In Central Sulawesi, he said, besides economic issues that are also a national leadership concern, such as the prices of basic necessities and job availability, infrastructure conditions are also a major focus for residents, particularly damaged roads, frequent power outages, and clean water availability. “The closer the candidate is perceived by residents as a solution to existing problems, the greater their chances of being elected,” he said.
