Sohibul has been officially paired by PKS with the former Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 period, Anies Baswedan. Anies has been nominated as the prospective gubernatorial candidate for Jakarta 2024.

It has been announced that, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has officially nominated Anies Baswedan and Sohibul Iman as the prospective gubernatorial (cagub) and vice-gubernatorial (cawagub) candidates for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub). This was announced by PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu in his speech at the Party Leadership School event titled ‘Continuing to Defend the People’ at the Grand Sahid Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (25/6/2024).

“I have received a letter from the DPW DKI Jakarta structure that proposed the DKI gubernatorial candidate to the PKS DPP, followed by the DKI vice-gubernatorial candidate to the PKS DPP. Among the letters, there was a request to endorse, approve, and designate Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Mr. Mohammad Sohibul Iman as the gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates for DKI,” said Syaikhu.

“PPP has endured a long conflict before; internal division was very time-consuming and yielded no positive results. Now, all party members must come together as one extended family, holding hands and working collectively. Therefore, discard any potential splits such as the issue of the congress, whether it’s an special congress or an early congress,” said Fernita on 17th June 2024. The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) does not rule out forming a coalition with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) after officially endorsing Anies Baswedan and Sohibul Iman as the gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates in the 2024 Jakarta Regional Election. “Yes, it is very possible (to form a coalition with PDIP),” said Syaikhu at the Opening of the Party Leadership School at the Grand Sahid Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

“Whoever becomes the candidate is ultimately for the people of Jakarta, for the good of the people of Jakarta. So there is no problem if the people of Jakarta trust us, of course, we will lead. If not, there is no problem,” said the former PKS President.

The KPU will be in charge of Sirekap during the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections. “Oh, absolutely.
