Bawaslu Kota Malang held the first hearing for the dispute resolution application of the Pilkada Kota Malang 2024 filed by independent candidate pair Heri Cahyono – Muhammad Rizky Wahyu Utomo (Sam HC-Rizky).

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto voiced his opinion on the rumor about a duet between Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, as governor and deputy governor candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada. Hasto stated that his party embraces the nation’s best talents.

**Explanation from Candidates and KPU** The spokesperson for the legal team of the petitioner (Sam HC – Rizky Boncel), Susianto, demanded that KPU Malang City re-verify the data of 13,615 supports that were declared ineligible (TMS). “We have proposed three options: re-upload the data to the Candidacy Information System (Silon), manual counting, or re-administrative verification,” stated Susianto. He added that there are real data such as support letters accompanied by scanned e-KTPs and excel data of the support counts that were deemed TMS. The Sam HC team requests that KPU re-upload this data to the Candidacy Information System (Silon). “That is what we are disputing in this process. We also want a maximum deadline of seven days for re-uploading the data,” said Susianto.

“This hearing focuses on the KPU’s decision declaring that the independent candidates did not meet the minimum support requirements,” stated Arifudin. The adjudication process at Bawaslu Malang City lasts a maximum of 12 working days from the start of the closed deliberation, and it is now on the fourth day. If on schedule, the decision will be read on July 3.

PKS Seeks Support from NasDem and PKB for Anies-Sohibul Iman Ticket Syaikhu aims to engage other political parties to back the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman duo in the 2024 regional election. Syaikhu noted that his party does not have the necessary seats to register the candidates for governor and deputy governor in the Jakarta Pilkada. “Therefore, we have already spoken with our coalition partners from the national election,” said

Sotarduga noted that PDI-P has many cadres who could be put forward as the governor candidate for East Java in 2024, including Pramono Anung, the Cabinet Secretary. “Now let me ask, don’t we have a candidate for governor? We do. Can’t Mr. Pram do it? He could in Jakarta, why not in East Java,” he said. Besides Anung, he also pointed out Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini and Chairman of the DPR RI Budget Board (Banggar) Said Abdullah. “Could Mrs. Tri Rismaharini not be suitable for East Java? Could Mr. Said Abdullah not be suitable for East Java?” he added.

Chairman of KPU Malang City, Muhammad Toyib, stated that the election organizers respect the dispute filed by the petitioner and will follow all ongoing legal processes. “If in this hearing we are declared unprepared to provide a response, we will follow and prepare more thoroughly,” he said. Toyib mentioned that the administrative verification process conducted by KPU was according to procedure. KPU believes that Silon is a precise application in terms of administrative results and an essential tool for the administrative verification process as it is connected to the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Office (Dispendukcapil). “So when there are discrepancies in the support data, we can identify them through Silon,” said Toyib. Regarding the assessment that Silon is problematic, Toyib mentioned that it is a system issue beyond the control of KPU Malang City. He added that KPU is awaiting the trial process and will comply with whatever the outcome and decision of the trial may be.

As a party that gained a decade of seats in the 2019 election and an additional seat in the 2024 polls, PKS has a firm grounding and can nominate a single ticket for mayor and vice mayor. Additionally, the PKS Bogor DPD Chairman, A. Trisnanto, has been proposed as a candidate for mayor in the 2024 local election. “Of course, PKS has the resources and powerful stance to choose the mayoral candidate. Be patient, we are waiting for DPP instructions. (Regarding my name being mentioned), yes, it has been noted, thank you for the support. We are certainly waiting for direction from the DPP. Any task given, we are ready, I must be ready,” said Atang on Sunday.

They include Vice Chairman of PDIP DPD Jatim Budi Kanang Sulistyono and Regent of Kediri Hanindhito Himawan Pramana. “For the vice-governor candidate in East Java, there are even more. There’s Mas Kanang, Mas Dito. Many more regents or mayors there,” he added.

“Whether through the civil service, retired military and police, socio-cultural groups, professional groups such as doctors, cultural figures, engineers, agricultural experts, and all other professionals can join PDIP,” said Hasto.
