Arief R. Wismansyah, who has served as the Tangerang Mayor for two terms, after five years as the Assistant Mayor, is now turning his attention to a greater challenge, namely the Banten Regional Election, by contending for Governor.

This decision is inspired by his resolve to provide a fresh option, presenting a unique vision and expertise to the people of Banten, beyond the long-standing ruling dynasty in the region. The leadership of Arief Wismansyah in Tangerang has been noted for creativity in city management and development of inclusive infrastructure, creating a firm groundwork to advance Banten Province. In this context, he is resolved to championing social fairness, sustainable development, and balanced growth throughout Banten. Arief expressed his willingness to face the challenges of the Pilkada in Banten with a vision focused on positive change and advancement for all community members. He revealed that his decision to run was initially unintended, but the support from the community and his family made him reconsider. He mentioned that a meeting with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin significantly influenced his decision to run. “I was asked by Mr. Ma’ruf Amin, and we had a meeting. He questioned, are you really running, Mr. Arief? If you want to run, you have to win; if you’re not sure you can win, don’t run, he said. I thought he was right. Ultimately, on Monday afternoon, I decided to run,” Arief said when interviewed in the Karawaci region of Tangerang City, June 23, 2024. Arief also shared his views on the prevailing political dynasty in Banten, noting the split in the community related to this dominance. Nevertheless, he is confident about contending with famous candidates in the region. “I hope to collaborate with the people of Banten to develop jointly, including with the existing dynasties,” he added. Arief highlighted his readiness to collaborate with various parties for the progress of Banten, without sacrificing the interests of the people. “Whatever the outcome, I hope the next leadership can provide the best for Banten,” he concluded. With this step, Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah invites the people of Banten to endorse a shared vision in progressing the region through the upcoming election.

Furthermore, Syaikhu is confident that the Anies-Sohibul Iman pair is a good match. According to Syaikhu, they complement each other well for the 2024 Jakarta Regional Election. “There is already a nickname for them, AMAN (Anies-Sohibul Iman). Whatever the name, (Anies-Sohibul Iman) have strong qualifications, are compatible, and can complement each other in leading Jakarta,” said Syaikhu.

Huda reminded that the Jakarta Pilkada is very fluid and nothing is fixed yet, including PKS, even though they are the winners of the Jakarta Legislative Election, but they cannot nominate on their own. “Nominating two figures at once as governor and deputy governor candidates, that’s in terms of political etiquette for a party that already has a golden ticket, has 20 percent. Now, we know our PKS friends did win in the last legislative election. But they haven’t exceeded 20 percent because they only have 18 seats while the 20 percent is 22 seats,” he said. “So in my opinion, this model of hoarding figures for a party that doesn’t meet and doesn’t have a golden ticket is dangerous, dangerous,” he said.

Eman Suherman, with his long experience in bureaucracy, is seen as the appropriate person to build Majalengka. This was mentioned by Political Analyst from Bandung Islamic University, Fuady M. E.. He said that E. Suherman, the Majalengka Sekda possesses very significant capital to stand as Majalengka regent. According to him, Eman’s chances of being elected as the next regent in Majalengka are very open. “This can be a very significant capital because experience is priceless,” said M. E. Fuady in a written statement, Sunday (9/6/2024). According to him, there is a transition in patterns in the 2024 Regional Elections (Pilkada). Fuady said that sitting officials are currently not being strongly preferred by Indonesian society. In contrast, he said, figures emerging from the bureaucracy, like administrative heads, are adding a fresh dynamic in the country. “I see that in various regions, many regional secretaries are running for office. This shows that they have expertise in managing public administration and GCG,” explained M. E. Fuady.

Proven Background Muhammad Fuady detailed that Eman’s track record in the bureaucratic sphere in Majalengka has indeed been demonstrated. He highlighted one of Eman’s initiatives was initiating the Rutilahu (Decent Housing Program) in partnership with Majalengka’s Scout Organization and Baznas. “Not only that, Suherman also dedicates considerable attention to the youth of Majalengka. His attention to the younger generation is channeled through real efforts such as the renewal of the Warung Jambu Stadium, the highlight of Majalengka residents,” described Fuady. Therefore, Fuady believes that Eman Suherman is the regent candidate who comprehends the needs of the Majalengka community the best. Moreover, he said, Eman Suherman, who is also a son of Majalengka, is the most preferred regent candidate in the 2024 Majalengka Pilkada. “They are also usually native residents and are adept at communicating with voters in their respective regions or the public in their areas,” clarified M. E. Fuady.
